The Transit of Venus

June 5th, 2012 marked our last chance as currently living Earthlings to witness Venus pass over the sun. So naturally when I learned this was happening I had to make a dash to the Adler Planetarium to see it up close and personal. Totally worth the hour wait, even for just a few seconds of telescope time.

A week of Chicago concerts

There’s never a lack of good live music somewhere in this city. Add the beginning of summer festival season and there are almost too many things to choose from.

The week of May 28 – June 4th had me at a show almost every night – too many to post separately so I picked some of the best shots to lump together here. Enjoy.
